New Horizons of Syracuse & Rochester Offers Green IT Certificate Training

Syracuse, NY, June 11, 2010 – New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Syracuse and Rochester, the leading IT training provider in Central and Western New York, announced today that it will deliver training to prepare organizations and their employees to become certified in green IT skills. 

The course deals with green technologies, standards, policies and design/support techniques. Topics include proper disposal, power preservation best practices, how to address carbon footprint management, virtualization skills and how to measure the return on investment from green IT activities.

As part of the course introduction, students who attend a class in July, 2010, will be provided, at no additional charge, a voucher for the CompTIA Strata Green IT certificate exam.

This program was developed in response to a 2009 survey which showed that support personnel, IT managers and IT solution providers are providing more and more green-related services. For example, the survey showed that 40 percent of IT service providers provide energy audits to their clients and 26 percent are handling carbon footprint measuring and monitoring services.
